Christmas Fayre 2010
Snow remains in the Benholm valley long after it has gone from
elsewhere which meant that the Mill of Benholm Christmas Fayre was
held at the Bervie Church Centre this year.
There were some who travelled all the way from Aberdeen to take
part which meant that once again the children could meet Santa
Claus, play with the toy trains and decorate their own ginger bread
men whilst parents prepared for Christmas buying homemade baking,
mince pies, Christmas cake and sweets and presents from the
stalls.
Thanks to the volunteers from MEARNS FM radio who brought their
sound equipment to entertain and attract the attention of passing
folk and swelling the visitor numbers.
Thanks to Robert Wilson for once again delighting young and old
with his vintage electric tinplate toy trains and to Gary
..... for entertaining the children so famously as Santa.
There was a special event this year with a press photographer
taking pictures of Emma Ronald receiving a framed certificate of
thanks from Charity Chairman Ian Hunter.
Emma had organised an extra special birthday party this year for
her many friends.
Emma asked her friends and relations NOT to buy her birthday
presents but to instead contribute if they wished to her favourite
charity.
All those who attended her party had contributed a donation and
together they raised £350 which Emma donated to her favourite
charity, Mill of Benholm.
Emma was presented with a framed certificate recognising her
efforts and generosity during the Mill of Benholm annual Christmas
Fayre held this year at The Bervie Church Centre.
Thanks again to all those locals who have become Mill of
Benholm Members to make Christmas wreaths, organise and run
activities and give up their free time to prepare the venue and
clear away afterwards.
